Dunlop Brothers Dominate At Armoy

The Armoy Road Race Club held their 5th Annual road race meeting in glorious sunshine with the famous Dunlop name hitting the headlines once again.  

 

Michael Dunlop 

 

Brothers William and Michael both walked away with doubles wins. Michael aboard his Honda took the two Superbike wins, firstly in the Open Race and then in last race of the day “The Race Of Legends” where he set a new lap record of 106.80mph. Older brother William took double wins in the Supersport and 250cc races.

Jeremy McWilliams 

 

Jamie Hamilton on his KMR 650 Kawasaki Supertwin held off teammate and former Grand Prix rider Jeremy McWilliams by eight hundredths of a second to take the podium in the Supertwin race. McWilliams was making his debut at National level.

 

Guy Martin 

 

 

Despite battling hard Suzuki Tyco Superstar Guy Martin was clean out of luck for first podium position. He led the first two laps of The Open but had to settle for second place. Martin also led the Supersport race but was passed by both Dunlop brothers and had to settle for third place. 

 

 

 

Christian Elkin former British 125cc Champion took the honours in the 125cc class while County Antrim men Sam Dunlop and Sam Wilson took a second and third.
